As part of the upcoming article on Universal VGA blocks, we have the first contest here at Skinnee Labs. In keeping with our data driven approach, this contest will be one based on data… Well, unused data anyway. This is an international contest, we will ship the prize to the winner anywhere in the world via Post. Yes, thats right, anyone can enter.
Enzotech was kind enough to sponsor the contest with a complete Universal VGA kit: 1 Enzotech VGA-IS block, 1 package of Memory Ramsinks (BMR-C1) and 1 package of low profile Memory Ramsinks BCC9(BMR-C1L). This contest is winner takes all, including the bit of dog drool on the block package from my dog.

So how is this going to work? On the GPU Bench I have a sensor that is unused in data calculation for the blocks, but is there as a cable extender for the other sensors. The sensor is wrapped around the PCI slots and just hangs there throughout testing, logging away. Your objective is to guess to the logged sensor average for all test runs performed during Universal VGA block testing. We will take all of the logged data for that sensor and roll it up to a single average temperature out to 2 decimal places, 85.99C as an example. Sounds simple enough… here are two photos of the sensor to assist in your guess.
To be clear, here are a run down of the rules.
And there you have it, our first contest and giveaway here at Skinnee Labs with special thanks to Enzotech. Good Luck to you all!
With the deadline for the Universal VGA: Guess the temperature contest now past, it is time to reveal the data and our winner. There was one last minute change to rules though. We decided to make things more interesting and make the person with the furthest guess from winning pay for shipping. So, like everything in life we have a winner and a loser.
In total, eleven blocks or coolers were tested logging slot sensor data along the way. Keeping this brief as I know you do not want to read a bunch, here are the results.

Congratulations to TuhdTheTroll with entry of 28.91C! We will be contacting you by email for shipping information within the next 24 hours.
Before I forget, C101, we were just kidding about the shipping charges, but your lowball 1C guess was the furthest from winning. A big thank you to all who entered, and to Enzotech for sponsoring the contest. We hope to do another contest like this again very soon.

Cameron (skinnee) ShearsIndividual articles are in progress, but behind a radiator and bay reservoir review… trying to get the first two or three ready for publishing this weekend. And yes, there will be an overall comparison for all the blocks tested.

Cameron (skinnee) ShearsIt varies depending on what other tests are running in the lab… Other tests where I logged Air Temp should give you a good idea of range.
